Alcobra’s telescoping tubing primarily uses the 6005A-T6 alloy. This medium-strength aluminum undergoes heat treatment and artificial aging. It offers an excellent balance of durability and workability. Compared to 6063, 6005A-T6 provides superior structural properties. At the same time, it maintains good machinability and corrosion resistance. Furthermore, weldability aligns closely with 6061 alloy standards. This makes 6005A-T6 a practical choice for demanding manufacturing applications across a wide variety of manufacturing sectors.
Round profiles ensure smooth sliding with minimal friction. We produce them in 6005A-T6 for enhanced strength. Wall thicknesses start at 0.049 inches for lighter applications. Heavier options reach 0.110 inches or more. Diameters range from 0.75 inches upward. Round tubes integrate well into extension mechanisms and support systems. For example, they appear in material handling equipment and adjustable fixtures. Buyers often select this shape for applications requiring rotation or low-resistance movement.
Square profiles resist rotation under torque. This maintains alignment in loaded conditions. Our 6005A-T6 square tubes feature 0.110-inch walls as standard.
